Internship

Internships: The internship aims to provide ample opportunities to students or graduates from a range of educational backgrounds to deepen their understanding and knowledge/skills on human rights especially the rights of persons with disabilities (PWDs) through involvement in awareness building, capacity development, and policy advocacy initiatives of NSD. The tasks of the interns will be determined based on their areas of interest as mentioned in the submitted application form that should contribute to promoting the rights of PWDs.

  • Length: Minimum 3 months and Maximum 6 months (starting from any month except October) Location: Kathmandu, Nepal
  • Deadline: There is no deadline for Nepalese interns. But, for foreigners, the April/May intake will accept applications from January-February, and the January intake will accept applications from November-December; however, the month of the intake may change as per the convenient date of the intern.
  • Expenses: All the expenses (visas, air travel, accommodation, etc.) of foreigners are the sole responsibilities of the interns or their sponsoring institutions. But, Nepalese interns from Nepal will be provided a modest stipend at the end of each month during the internship.
  • Qualifications of Applicants: -
  • Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree in human rights, development studies, peace studies, law, or a relevant field
  • Strong interest in the issues of PWDs
  • Analytical/research skills
  • Good writing and verbal communication skills in English
  • Good computer skills in Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment and solve problems
  • Willingness to work with different stakeholders
  • Drive for results
